Tesla, known for creating complex projects such as self-driving electric cars and rockets, is reportedly in talk with the music industry in order to develop its own music streaming service. Recode reports that the Tesla has communicated with all major labels to license their music catalog and bundle it with its cars.
It is believed by the music industry that Tesla will offer multiple tiers of service, starting with something similar as Pandora currently offers.
“We believe it’s important to have an exceptional in-car experience so our customers can listen to the music they want from whatever source they choose,” a Tesla spokesperson said. “Our goal is to simply achieve maximum happiness for our customers.”
