AT&T launches $60 unlimited data prepaid plan, here’s why it’s bad

    -

On Friday AT&T announced another option for unlimited data users: a $60 unlimited everything plan. The carrier claims that this “plan is perfect for surfing the web, keeping up with your friends on social and streaming standard definition (about 480p) video at a max of 1.5Mbps.”

The $60 plan, however, has a few limitations. One of these limitations, and the worst of all, is that data speeds are capped at 3Mbps, which is very slow for video streaming and other heavy tasks such as uploading videos/photos. The otherย downside of this plan is that you will only be able to watch videos at 480p, HD video streaming is not available with this plan. Also, afterย 22GB of usage during periods of network congestion, AT&T will slow your data speeds even more. The plan alsoย eradicate the Personal Hotspot feature which is available in all other unlimited data plans.
