Encouraging its users to update to a newer supported OS, Google today announced that it will no longer support Chrome on deprecatedย OSs including Windows XP, Vista,ย Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8. The company explains on their official Google Chrome blog that those OSs “are missing critical security updates and have a greater potential to be infected by viruses and malware.” After April of next year, Google Chrome will still work on those unsupported operating systems.ย Although the web browser will continue to work on those OSs,ย updates and security fixes will not be delivered to those who decide to stay using one the unsupported operating system.
