On September 9th, 2014 Apple unveiled two different iPhone models at the same time for the first time. Following the big screen pressure from Samsung Mobile, Apple finally realized that people do indeed want bigger screen iPhones and announced an additional model of the iPhone 6.
Apple calls its new bigger-screen iPhone the “iPhone 6 Plus.” While at the same time, they introduced the regular model with a set of stunning new hardware and software features.

The newly introduced iPhone 6 Plus model sports a 5.5″ display with a 1920ร 1080 resolution. As for the regular model, the iPhone 6, is built in a 1334 ร750 4.7″ display.
The iPhone 6 base model features a 1334 ร750 4.7″ display while the iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5″ display with a 1920ร 1080 resolution.
Like what Samsung did with the Galaxy Note, Apple redesigned many functions and native iOS apps to make it compatible with landscape mode on the iPhone 6 Plus. The home screen and native apps will work in landscape mode on the 6 Plus, the iPhone 6 will not get this feature.

As the new iPhone 6 Plus is a bigger phone, it also comes with a bigger battery. With this bigger battery, the iPhone 6 Plus will last you up to 16 days on standby while the regular iPhone 6 will last you up to 10 days. For browsing the web on WiFi, the 6 Plus will last you up to 11 hours on a single charge while the regular model can last up to 12 hours. As for browsing the web on LTE and 3G, the Plus can last you up to 12 hours and the iPhone 6 can last up to 10 hours.
Both phones are powered by an A8 chip, a 64-bit desktop architecture CPU. Both devices are also helped by an M8 motion co-processor to detect your motion without slowing down the main A8 chip.
iPhone 6 camera
Apple claims that it dramatically improved its iSight camera in the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus by adding 1080p HD at 60 fps, 240-fps slo-mo, and time-lapse video. The camera’s sensor also received improvements in detecting faces and exposure control.
iPhone 6 NFC, Apple Payment
After all the years of being on Android phones, Apple implemented the Near Field Communication technology (NFC) in iPhone 6 for users to make payments using their iPhone. This will be done through Apple’s payment system named Apple Pay. This feature will not be a launch feature, it will be available in October.
iPhone 6 release date
Apple will launch the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on September 12. The base model iPhone 6 will be available for $200 and the iPhone 6 Plus will be sold for $300 with a two-year contract. Both models will come in Space Grey, Gold, and Silver.
